People: Our Story So Far

New Growth
Pilot mentoring scheme for 11-16 year olds began (2003) in response to local needs. Due to its success, “Lifespace” was formally launched (2004) with a team of 3 mentors reaching 68 young people in its first year. Lifespace achieved the National Approved Provider Standard (APS) accreditation backed by The Home Office which it continues to carry today. Stratford Town Trust funded the growth of the mentoring work and from 2004 – 2008 the team of mentors grew to six and mentored between 90-100 young people each year. In 2008 Lifespace received the Faithworks Award for “Improving the lives of children and young people” (see image) and the charity was fully incorporated, and finally renamed Lifespace Trust in 2010.
